Favorite Post #6 - Dry Shine
Do you ever get done styling your hair then you look closely and you have all these short fly aways that are sticking straight up on top of your head? This happens to me every day so this dry shine has become my best friend.
Dry Shine is like a pomade but not as heavy as one and a little bit goes a long way. I swear one of these bottles last 8 months to a year on me. You put a tiny bit on your fingers and rub together then smooth your fingers over the fly aways. I also use it on my bangs so they look more styled and out of my face.
I sale this stuff for $24. Like I said it lasts a long time and I seriously can't go without it. Love this stuff!

Favorite Post #5 - High Frequency
This may look a little weird to some people but I love this little machine. When I was going to hair school in Provo we did a service called High Frequency and what you would do was put one of the glass electrodes in the machine, turn it on to what your client can handle and massage their head with it for 15-20 minutes and it would help your hair grow. I noticed a difference when I used it. So when I graduated I bought one of these machines to do on myself and I love it. I feel like it helps my hair grow faster and thicker. I had some thin places in my hair that I would use this on and they would thicken up. You can also use this machine for acne. The machines shocks your scalp and gets the blood circulation to your scalp so that your hair can grow. I am thinking of adding this service to my salon. Let me know what you think. Maybe $10 for 20 minutes? I usually do this about 2 to 3 times a week. You can not do this if your are pregnant though.

Favorite Post #4 - Babyliss
I have had a babyliss flat iron and blow drying for 5 years now and will never get a different brand cause I love these so much. My sweet husband bought me the hot pink set for my birthday. I have another set that I am just going to start to use in my salon now. Babyliss nano is a great brand and I have never had my hair feel so smooth before. The nano technology smooths down the cuticle and it does wonders. I have had Chi's in the past and they have broken on me many times and it gets too hot sometimes that it would fry off my hair. I have never had any problems with this set and you can adjust the heat on the flat iron. This month only they have this hot pink set for $150 which is a killer deal cause just the flat iron is usually that price. Let me know if you want a set and I can get you one before they are sold out.

Favorite Post #3 - Shellac
Shellac is the best invention for nail polish! For Valentines Day my husband got me the shellac kit with a few colors but now every time I go to the beauty store I have to pick up a new color cause I am so obsessed with it. Lately I have been looking at different ways to do your nails with shellac and I have found a lot of layering techniques, french tips, and I bought some chevron stickers in a few different colors to add some designs. They are so much fun and there are so many different things you can do with them. Shellac lasts about 14 days on your finger nails and almost 8 weeks on your toe nails. I offer shellac at my salon for $15 dollars. The pictures below I did on my toes and fingers and with both of those I did the layering technique and that way you can have more color choices.

Favorite Post #2: LiLash
For those of you that like/want eyelash extensions but don't want to damage your lashes then you will love LiLash. I started using it a couple months ago and I had very short brittle lashes and now they are so long and beautiful. I love my lashes and I feel like I have fake lashes on. They have also gotten a lot thicker. I wish I took a before picture of what my lashes looked like cause there is a huge difference right now.
How LiLash works is it is a serum that you put at the root of your lashes once a day and I usually do it when I take off my make up at night. If you want to do it in the morning then don't put any product on your eyes for two minutes after you put the serum on. You will notice a huge difference in 2 days. I am one that loves to try lots of things to make me feel better so I use to wear the strip eyelash extensions and when I would take them off at night they would rip out so many of my natural lashes so this way you keep your natural lashes plus get them thicker and longer. I have had many people say they had to stop using the serum cause their lashes got so long but I keep using it about 3 times a week cause I love it so much and want to keep my lashes long and thick.
I sell LiLash for $120 and it lasts 7 to 8 months. If you would like some let me know and I can get it for you. I promise you won't regret it!

Favorite Post #1: Clip In Extensions
I want my clients to get to know me and I get a lot of people ask me what my favorite products are and since September 13th is my birthday I would like to share 13 of my favorite things. This way you can know what I like best and know a little bit more about your stylist. To start off with my first post this is something that a lot of people don't know about me but it is a huge favorite of mine which are clip in extensions. Here is proof and please don't judge my before picture:)....
Before
After
I absolutely love long hair but ever since I was born my hair grows so stinking slow. So when I finally discovered clip in extensions they became my best friend. I started wearing them about 2 years ago and I go about a year before buying a new set so I just got my third set of these. I have had every method of extensions and these work for me best cause I am one that loves to scrub my head in the shower and not have to worry about extensions getting in the way.
Now with clip in extensions you put them in every morning after you straighten your hair and take them out every night before bed. To some it seems like a lot of work but for me it is apart of my routine now. I tell my clients who get any kind of extensions to give it a week to get use to them then you will absolutely love them. I wash these once a week but I was my real hair every other day. It is good for the extensions to get the natural oils from your real hair so thats why I go a week before washing them. I then lay them out on a towel to air dry and you can straighten them or curl them. I take my round brush to them on low heat before I straighten them to give them a little bit of body. I also use heat protectant on them cause they can get split ins just like your real hair does.
These extensions come in 14 inch and 18 inch. I charge $150 for the 14 inch and $180 for the 18 inch. They will last you a year if you take great care of them and they too need trims like your real hair does. They don't come in every single hair color so it is an extra $30 if I have to color the hair. With this price I get the extensions, label them, teach you how to put them in and cut them to blend your hair.
I love these and if you are thinking of wanting longer hair but not the hassle or the expense of bead lock extensions then these are for you!

Product/Tip of the week: Thinning hair
As we get older our hair tends to fall out more. Other factors of hair loss could be caused by stress, seasons changing, your medication, having a baby, and your diet. I know most of us want thick hair and I sell stuff in my salon that helps with just that.
It is called Nioxin and I swear by it. After having my son I used it faithfully and instead of my hair falling out like crazy it ended up getting thicker and growing longer. I love this stuff! Nioxin helps in thinning hair to make it thicker. I love the conditioner cause it makes your head cold and tingling and that proves to me that it is really working. It helps get the blood circulation going in your scalp to help thicken up your hair. I have the liters on sale for $50 for the set so let me know if you would like to pick up a set.
Other things you can do to help your hair grow is eating a healthy diet, drinking tons of water, exercising, taking prenatal pills or B vitamins. Let me know if you have any more questions on hair care. I am more then happy to help you out. 801-259-5690

Product/Tip of the week: Sun and Pool Care
I know many of us have dry hair during the summer and our color tends to fade or bleach out. It is important to take care of your hair during the summer time especially if you are swimming all the time. Redken carries a great product line that is strictly for the sun. It is Color Extend Sun and it helps you to keep your color lasting longer during the summer and your hair soft and not brittle from the chlorine in a pool. Here is a run down of what each product does...
Shampoo: Gently cleanses and removes minerals, chlorine and salt deposits while helping to repair sun-damaged hair.
Conditioner Mask: After-Sun Mask instantly detangles and revitalizes sundamaged hair with intense moisture replenishment and repair.
Leave In Treatment: Protects hair and scalp from UVA/UVB rays, which damage the cuticle, leading to color fading on all hair types. Has spf 12.
As much as your skin needs sunscreen during the summer so does your hair so you can spray the leave in conditioner on your hair before you head out to the pool. Also another way to really protect your hair from chlorine is to use a swim cap. I know they aren't the most attractive things but they do make some cute ones out there and you will be happy you used them when your hair feels better at the end of the summer. Also do not shampoo your hair before entering a pool cause that strips your hair of its natural oils making it easier for chlorine to seep into your hair.
I also offer a 4 Step Deep Conditioner for $10 in my salon. I feel it is important to deep condition your hair once a week to add protein and moisture back into your hair that everyday wear and tear can take out. My 4 Step Deep Conditioner lasts about 17 minutes.
Let me know if you have anymore questions on summer hair care, if you would like to purchase the redken product, or if you would like to get a deep conditioning treatment done.

Sarah's Wedding Hair
My friend Sarah got married last Saturday and I had the honor to do her hair for her wedding. We did a little different then the way we had it for her bridals. This time around you did the pin curls bigger and all centered in the lower part of her head. She wanted more of a simple yet elegant look and I think this undo suited her best. She looked so beautiful the whole day and I was so happy I was able to be apart of it!

Ali's Extensions
I forgot to take a before picture of Ali and it is kind of hard to see her extensions with her dark shirt on but I loved how these turned out on her. The extensions added about 6 inches to her real hair and blended perfectly. These are one of my favorite services to do cause of the drastic change. Ali was very pleased with them and kept calling herself Rapunzul. It was so much fun doing her hair!

Pin curl Updo
My friend is getting married on the 24th of this month and I did her hair for her bridals and we did a pin curl updo. I curled all her hair with a big curling iron then starting pinning everything to the back side of her head. It turned out great. I will need to use darker bobby pins on her wedding day but other then that she loved it and I am so happy for her. I will post a picture of her on her wedding day in her dress with her hair. Thanks Sarah for letting me be apart of your special day!
